FREE Winter Micro-Season Practice: Heavy Snow
Monday, December 8th | 1pm| Online via Zoom

What does it mean to truly rest when the world demands constant motion? What wisdom lives in winter's invitation to stillness?

Join us for a complimentary introduction to the Leaves of Change program as we honor the micro-season of Heavy Snow (December 6–19)—a period when nature models a form of surrender that our culture has largely forgotten.

During these days, the earth grows quiet beneath accumulating snow. Animals retreat to their dens. Even the air seems to pause, waiting. Heavy Snow is not merely a seasonal marker but a teaching: an invitation to stop resisting the darkness and instead discover its restorative power. In a time when depletion has become our default state, this micro-season asks us to remember that deep rest is not weakness—it is the courage to stop.

What We'll Explore

❄️ The Heavy Snow Micro-Season
An exploration of this pivotal winter phase through the lens of Chinese Medicine, and what it reveals about rest, surrender, and the essential act of stillness in a world that mistakes exhaustion for productivity.

❄️ Guided Stillness Practice
A contemplative practice designed to help you access the profound rest that Heavy Snow offers. We'll work with Kidney Breathing, a classical Daoist practice that cultivates the kind of stillness that restores rather than depletes—a practice of replenishment rather than endurance.

❄️ Navigating Winter's Depths
Practical wisdom for the weeks ahead—from the solstice through Great Cold—rooted in self-compassion and an understanding of how to protect your vital reserves during the season's most demanding stretch. This is guidance for moving through winter not as something to be survived, but as a teacher to be honored.

This session offers a glimpse into the contemplative practices and seasonal wisdom that form the foundation of the full Leaves of Change program (beginning February 4th). Whether you are curious about the program or simply seeking a different relationship with winter's rhythms, this gathering welcomes you.

For Whom

Anyone feeling depleted, overwhelmed, or resistant to winter's pace. Anyone who senses there must be another way to move through these dark months. All levels welcome—no prior experience with qigong or meditation necessary. What is required is only a willingness to pause.
