Join us for two days of dedicated practice exploring the complementary arts of Qigong and tea. This weekend workshop offers structured instruction in foundational Qigong principles and an introduction to tea as a contemplative practice, creating a framework for ongoing study and personal cultivation. Retreat Dates:Saturday, July 25th: 10:30a - 5:30pSunday, July 26th: 10:30a - 3:30p*Nourishing lunch provided by Woodland Pantry each day.The Weekend:
The schedule balances instruction, practice, and integration, giving you time to absorb what you’re learning and begin developing your own relationship with these traditions.Mornings are devoted to tea and Qigong. You’ll learn proper Qigong form, breathing methods, and how to cultivate and direct qi through specific movements and postures. Tea sessions introduce you to preparation techniques, different varieties, and the practice of drinking with attention. Both of these practices teach you to work with energy, timing, and presence. You’ll begin to understand how the precision of the tea gathering and the flow of Qigong inform each other, each offering different entry points into the same principles.Afternoons include walking practice, where you’ll apply Qigong principles to natural movement and spatial awareness. We’ll then shift to strength and mobility training drawn from Chinese martial arts traditions. This work teaches you how to build structural integrity through stance training, develop power that originates from the ground and moves through a relaxed body, and maintain mobility in the joints while cultivating stability in the core. Throughout the weekend, medicinal meals from Tanya Himeji Romero of Woodland Pantry provide nourishment that supports sustained practice. You’ll have lunch each day, fueling your training without needing to leave the immersive learning environment. What We’re Exploring:
This workshop is designed for those ready to begin a practice and deepen as you return to your daily life. You might be new to Qigong and tea, or you might be looking to deepen existing knowledge with proper instruction. Either way, come prepared to practice, make mistakes, and to leave with skills you can continue developing on your own.By the end of Sunday, you’ll have a foundation in Qigong sequences you can practice daily, an understanding of how to prepare and drink tea as a form of presence and fun, and strength and mobility exercises that support your ongoing development. You’ll also have something less tangible but equally important: a direct experience of what these practices actually feel like in your body, and a clearer sense of how these paths call to you.If you’re curious about these arts and willing to put in the work, this workshop will give you what you need to begin.Reserve your spot. Bring a notebook, comfortable clothes for movement, and your questions.*Sliding Scale: $495-695(Preregistration Required; price includes both retreat days, plus tea & meals)
