Welcome to the Bathhouse
Hello Dear Community,
I’m excited to announce The Bathhouse Steam & Shiatsu event at a very special location in the Hudson Valley <3
This retreat will take place at Mary Evelyn’s home which is nestled in the valley below Overlook Mountain in Woodstock, New York. There are 24 acres of woodland to explore, a beautiful temple space for gathering, practice and relaxing, as well as the bath house amenities to enjoy, including a wood-fired hot tub, a barrel sauna, bio-mats & more.
The intention for this day is to gather and have time to reconnect. Reconnect with ourselves, the land, and a sense of community. We are all swimming in a world of injustice, complexity and mind-boggling chaos. The communities that Mary Evelyn, Fukiko & Alexandria steward are full of artists, changemakers, academics and people making an impact in the world. We created this space so you could recharge and receive support in ways that sustain you.
We have capped this event at 8 participants and we have 5 slots available :)
The day will include:
+ communal care, ritual & somatic practice in a sacred space
+ an opportunity to check in and be witnessed in circle
+ use of bathhouse facilities
+barrel sauna and dipping pool
+ a private 40 minute steam session with Fukiko of Poca Poca Steam
+ a private 45 minute Shiatsu session with me!
+ ample time to rest, dream & relax outdoors or in a beautiful temple space with a body - oiling station, biomats & more

Mary Evelyn Pritchard
Mary Evelyn is an artist and community builder who’s work centers on creating sacred spaces and experiences.
For the last decade she has worked in the Healing Arts as a Feng Shui practitioner, Interior Designer and Land Energy Worker, meanwhile, actively exploring the realms of embodiment and eros through study and personal practice with a focus on the Sacred Feminine.
She has a particular passion for facilitating community ritual and ceremony as a pathway to individual and collective healing. She will be hosting and co-facilitating the opening & closing circles for the retreat.
Fukiko Ostensen
Fukiko is the steam therapist and herbalist at Poca Poca Whole-body Herbal
Steam. By bringing the special healing modality of steam from Japan and weaving it with the Western Herbalism that she’s been immersed in since moving to the Hudson Valley region, Fukiko’s practice is the meeting place of her love for plants and her ancestral lineage.
In addition, she organizes and facilitates community events focusing onwomen’s health and spirituality. In some of this work, she is a translator between English and Japanese, finding immense joy in serving as the bridge for the two realms, allowing new alchemical magic to occur.

Details:
Around Menstruation:
At Poca Poca steam, we don’t recommend getting a steam during the heavy bleeding, but it’s good to steam right before to lessen the PMS symptoms and towards the end of bleeding to cleanse the uterus. As for the Bath House, we honor each person's choice for how they would like to engage with the amenities while bleeding and intend to provide a supportive environment for the kind of deep rest this part of the cycle invites. For soaking, we simply request measures be taken to manage bleeding with a menstrual cup or tampon.
Cancellation/Refund Policy:
Cancellations received more than 30 days prior to the event start date (before April 10, 2025) are eligible for a full refund minus $75 which covers administrative fees. Cancellations made within 30 days (on or after April 10, 2025) are not eligible for a refund and cannot be re-applied to future events. All cancellation notices must be received in writing or email.
Event Cancellation:
We reserve the right to cancel the event due to low enrollment or other circumstances which would make the event non-viable. If we are forced to cancel the event, a full refund will be granted to those already registered. We are not liable for any expenses incurred in preparing to attend or traveling to the event. However, as much notice and consideration as possible will be given.
