Five Animal Qigong (Wuqinxi) was developed by second century Chinese physician Hua Tou. After studying the movements of animals, he applied similar principles to the human body.
Creating movement in the joints, elongating the waist and limbs and general exertion of the body are key components of a healthy and invigorating practice. Two millennia later this system is still being practiced and prescribed for healthy lifestyles.
In this series we will learn Hua Tou’s five movements, breathing patterns and incorporate seasonal meditation. This version of Five Animal Play is within the lineage of Tom Bisio’s Internal Arts International.
